Athlete Performance Testing Melbourne

Athlete Performance Testing Melbourne

You do not need to be injured to benefit from a detailed understanding of how your body performs.

Kinematics’ Athlete Performance Screening uses advanced VALD force plate technology and dynamometry to objectively assess your strength, power, movement strategies and differences between sides.

Designed for athletes of all ages and stages, this standalone assessment provides meaningful performance data that can help you better understand your physical capabilities, identify areas for development and make more informed decisions about your training.

What is Athlete Performance Testing?

What is Athlete Performance Testing?

VALD Strength + Performance Testing is an advanced assessment led by one of our experienced Kinematics Physiotherapists using world-leading VALD technology to objectively measure your strength, power, balance and movement quality.

Whether you’re an athlete looking to improve performance, reduce your injury risk or return to sport with confidence, this assessment identifies strength deficits, side-to-side asymmetries and areas for development that can’t always be detected through traditional assessment alone.

Your results are then interpreted by your Physiotherapist and benchmarked against your previous performance and normative data, providing clear, personalised recommendations to optimise your training, rehabilitation and athletic performance.

Your Athlete Performance Screening may include assessments of:

  • Lower-body strength and force production
  • Explosive power and jump performance
  • Single-leg and double-leg performance
  • Differences between your left and right sides
  • Landing and force absorption strategies
  • Reactive strength
  • Balance and stability
  • Sport-specific physical qualities

The exact testing parameters will be selected based on your sport, training demands and goals.

Yes. You'll receive a summary of your results along with personalised recommendations from your Kinematics Physiotherapist. Repeat testing can be compared against previous results to monitor progress.

Unlike standalone testing services, every assessment at Kinematics is led by an experienced Physiotherapist who combines objective VALD data with a comprehensive clinical assessment.

This ensures your results are translated into practical, evidence-informed recommendations to improve performance, reduce injury risk and support your long-term sporting goals.

Should your assessment identify areas of weakness, imbalance or reduced performance, our multidisciplinary team can work with you to develop a personalised plan through Physiotherapy, Strength + Rehab and Clinical Pilates to address these deficits and help you perform at your best.
