Physiotherapist + Strength + Pilates
Zhean (Pronounced Shaun) graduated with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Physiology followed by a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Otago, New Zealand. He has since relocated to Melbourne to join the exceptional multi-disciplinary team at Kinematics.
Zhean’s early passions for movement stemmed from his background in hip-hop dancing and powerlifting. His strong interests in strength training and movement analysis eventually led to a career in Physiotherapy.
Zhean enjoys working with patients from across all demographics. While he is experienced in treating various areas of the body, he holds a keen interest in shoulder and knee injuries, in particular gym-related injuries.
Additionally, Zhean has valuable experience working with local premier teams in rugby union and rugby league back in New Zealand. In this role, he managed player injuries and provided on-field physiotherapy support during game days.
At Kinematics, Zhean effectively combines his hands-on and active-based skillset to achieve long-term results. His holistic perspective on health emphasises the importance of self efficacy to achieve those results. Zhean’s hands-on skills include massage, joint mobilisations, mobilisations with movements and dry needling. Additionally, he incorporates pilates, barbell training and elements of strength and conditioning into his active-based skillset.
Outside of Kinematics, you’ll find Zhean at an NRL or NBL game and running around with his cavoodle, Luca. You will also find him in a power rack training for his next powerlifting meet or “cutting shapes” in one of the many dance studios in Melbourne.
Zhean is at K2 on Tuesdays through to Saturdays.Book with Zhean
