Dr. Jim Webb

Physiotherapist, Osteopath + Digestive Health Practitioner | Head of Clinical Development

Dr. Jim Webb

Dr Jim Webb is the most experienced practitioner at Kinematics and a cornerstone of our clinical leadership team. With over 20 years of clinical, leadership, and high-performance experience across the UK, New Zealand, and Australia, Jim plays a critical role in advancing our mission to change what great healthcare looks like.

His career began in the UK public health system, where his clinical skill and systems thinking quickly led him into elite sport. Jim went on to work with several English Premier League football clubs, including Manchester City, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur. During his decade in professional football, he was part of the Chelsea medical team during successful FA Cup and UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup campaigns, contributing to integrated medical and performance environments at the highest level of the game.

Beyond football, Jim was appointed Lead Physiotherapist and Osteopath with the English Institute of Sport across the North East and North West regions. In this role, he supported nationally funded athletes across British Cycling, Athletics, Taekwondo, Wrestling, Swimming, and Squash. His work formed part of multidisciplinary performance systems that contributed to Olympic medal success at the Beijing Olympics in 2008. Alongside this role, he also consulted to Sale Sharks Rugby Football Club, further broadening his experience in elite sporting and organisational settings.

After relocating to New Zealand, Jim founded and led Integrated Health Otago for over a decade. As Clinical Director, he built a reputation for managing complex, multi-system presentations where musculoskeletal dysfunction intersected with metabolic, neurological, gastrointestinal, and hormonal factors. A significant and growing focus of his clinical work has been women’s health, particularly in the areas of persistent pain, pelvic and hormonal influences on musculoskeletal function, fatigue, and trauma-informed care.

Jim is also an ACC Sensitive Claims practitioner, working with clients who have experienced sexual trauma. This role has further shaped his trauma-informed, person-centred approach, emphasising safety, trust, nervous system regulation, and respectful, collaborative rehabilitation.

During his time in New Zealand, Jim made substantial contributions at a national level through Osteopaths New Zealand, where he developed and implemented a formal career pathway for osteopaths in sports, exercise, and rehabilitation. In recognition of his leadership and expertise, he was awarded Advanced Osteopathic Practitioner in Exercise-Based Rehabilitation, becoming the first osteopath in New Zealand to receive this distinction.

Education and mentoring have been consistent threads throughout Jim’s career. He has taught manual therapy and rehabilitation at undergraduate and master’s level within the University of Otago School of Physiotherapy and remains deeply committed to developing clinicians and advancing professional standards. Now based in Melbourne, he continues to collaborate with practitioners, universities, and research groups to refine integrative and trauma-informed models of care for complex and chronic presentations.

As Head of Clinical Development at Kinematics, Jim combines hands-on clinical practice with strategic leadership to shape how care is delivered across the team. Through mentoring, professional development, and system-level thinking, he helps build a model of care that prioritises long-term function, resilience, and performance — not just for elite athletes, but for everyday people who expect more from their healthcare. We are incredibly fortunate to have Jim as part of the team, with his influence extending beyond individual treatment sessions to shape clinicians, systems, and standards that continue to raise the bar for what modern healthcare can and should deliver.

Whether working with high-level athletes, active individuals seeking performance longevity, or patients living with chronic pain, women’s health concerns, or trauma-related conditions, Jim’s focus remains the same: identifying root causes, restoring capacity, and delivering sustainable, meaningful change.

Outside the clinic, Jim enjoys running, cycling, swimming, exploring Melbourne, and spending time immersed in nature.

Jim will be at Kinematics Monday to Friday starting from the 10th of March, 2026.
