Jake Smith
Physiotherapist + Strength
Jake Smith
Jake recently made the move to Melbourne from Canberra, having grown up in Sydney. He holds a Master of Physiotherapy from The University of Sydney and has worked in private practice, treating both general and athletic populations. Before that, he completed a Master of High Performance Sport at the Australian Catholic University, gaining hands-on experience as a Strength & Conditioning Intern with the GWS Giants Football Club before continuing as an Athletic Performance Coach. In 2024, he worked as a physiotherapist for the ACT GWS Giants Football Club Academy while also supporting professional MMA fighters.
With a background in both physiotherapy and strength & conditioning, Jake combines hands-on treatment with tailored rehab strategies to help his patients recover, perform, and function at their best. Having dealt with his fair share of sporting injuries, he understands the mental and physical challenges of rehab and is passionate about guiding people through the process. While he treats a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries, he has a strong interest in running-related lower limb injuries, bone stress injuries, knee injuries, and shoulder injuries.
Outside the clinic, Jake enjoys coffee-fueled mornings diving into philosophy and psychology books. He’s an outdoor enthusiast who loves surfing and skiing and is setting his sights on improving his running and swimming in 2025. A die-hard GWS Giants supporter, he’s excited to catch games at the MCG and explore Melbourne’s coffee scene to see if it lives up to the hype.
Jake is at Kinematics from Tuesday to Saturday.
