Physiotherapist + Pilates + Women's Health
Sophie graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Australian Catholic University, Ballarat and has since relocated to Melbourne to pursue her dream of working as part of a progressive multidisciplinary team (and for slightly higher temperatures!).
Sophie’s passion for physiotherapy stemmed from the many hours she spent as a patient within physiotherapy clinics due to her own various injuries. She now utilises her deep understanding of the patient experience, to empathise with her clients and motivate them to take on an active role in their rehabilitation.
Within her treatments at Kinematics, Sophie utilises a combination of manual therapy techniques including tissue release, trigger point release, dry needling and cupping with therapeutic exercise targeting mobility, stability, and strength. She is most passionate about Clinical Pilates and thrives when working with her clients within this space.
Sophie has completed further studies in the management of hip + knee osteoarthritis and Women’s Health. From guiding those experiencing pain, to pelvic floor related issues and those who just want to check their pelvic floor strength and exercise safely, Sophie enjoys helping all women through their pre and post-natal journey. Sophie is also able to assess and treat women with pelvic health conditions such as pelvic floor dysfunction, prolapse, bladder and bowel incontinence to name a few.
She enjoys treating any area within the human body but has a keen interest in, knee injuries and Women’s Health related issues including pelvic pain and incontinence.
Sophie grew up participating in competitive dancing and swimming but has since discovered her love for Pilates and netball! If Sophie isn’t in the clinic treating, you’ll find her supporting the Bombers, visiting family in regional Victoria or with her very sassy French Bulldog, Baxter.
Sophie is at K1 on Mondays through to Fridays.Book with Sophie
