When Slav realised that his skill set was better utilised behind the scenes than on the sporting field, he decided to put all of his energy into Exercise Physiology.
Whilst undertaking his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science at Deakin University, he was fortunate to work at Melbourne Storm. Collaborating with the highly regarded staff, Slav gained invaluable experience in the rehabilitation, strength and conditioning as well as performance management of the elite players.
He soon realised that chronic degenerative conditions such as osteoporosis and osteoarthritis were not conditions that solely affected the older generation, but also presented in the younger (and even professional) population, as a result of the demand an intensity of vigorous training on the body. This discovery, in conjunction with a desire to assist all athletes both aspiring and professional, inspired Slav to further his studies and undertake his Masters of Exercise Physiology.
Slav has since worked as an Exercise Physiologist, alongside industry experts for many years, in various settings including both private practice and sporting clubs. A career highlight was travelling to the United States for the opportunity to work closely with current NBA and Boomers star, Joe Ingles.
Slav’s experience in the industry has highlighted the immense gap between rehabilitation and performance. At Kinematics Strength + Recovery, Slav endeavours to bridge this gap, by applying his knowledge and facilitating individualised and progressive strength and conditioning programs.
Whether you are a professional or aspiring athlete, exercise enthusiast or have a post-operative or degenerative condition, Slav is dedicated to improving your biomechanics and promoting your optimum performance!
