Physiotherapist + Pilates
Elise completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons) at Charles Stuart University in Albury before moving back to Melbourne for work and better coffee.
Elise’s dedication to managing her own injuries throughout many years of elite level Calisthenics, inspired her to become a Physiotherapist. Over the past 20 years, Elise has represented Victoria at a national level, and trained in classical ballet at a pre-professional level. This firsthand experience has well equipped her in understanding and treating dance and performance injuries.
At Kinematics, Elise enjoys working with clients to achieve their goals and has a special interest in musculoskeletal conditions such as hypermobility, tendinopathies and chronic pain. Knowing the importance of optimal movement and alignment for injury prevention in dance, Elise draws on these principals during her Clinical Exercise + Pilates sessions as well as when she is conducting her pre pointe assessments.
While Elise has experience working with clients of all ages, she thrives when given the opportunity to educate and empower young up and coming athletes.
Elise is also a published author in the field of Dance Medicine. Her research article focusses on lower limb injuries and lateral bias in ballet dancers which gives her an in-depth knowledge of the risk factors and specific approach dancers require for injury management and return to class and stage.
Outside of work Elise spends her time supporting the Bombers & Robynmore Calisthenics, dancing, going to the theatre or hunting down the best foodie spots in Victoria (recommendations welcome).
Elise is at K1 on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.Book with Elise
